Cheryl and Bobby Barnes are my good neighbors here on Point Prim. They’ve been coming up from Weymouth, Massachusetts each summer for many years. This year they were joined by son, Jon Alec and his family, Mackenzie, Isabelle and Julie. They came to the lighthouse TWICE to go to the top and picnic on our pretty grounds! – Linda
Franco, Michaela, Colwyn, Elliott & Jordan came from Ottawa. They chose Point Prim Lighthouse because they read it was the oldest brick lighthouse in Canada. They liked viewing how the lightkeeper lived and were fascinated with the fish oil lamps and our beautiful Fresnel lens. They enjoyed the informative story boards. – Katelyn
Kenny & Katherin Fisher are from RIGHT HERE in Stratford, PEI. They came to Point Prim Lighthouse for a picnic and to tour the eastern end of the island. Their favorite thing about the lighthouse was the storyboards and the many interesting facts they learned there. – Katelyn
Jacquelin & Gillian came to the island for a quick two days and it is their first time on the east coast! They loved the friendly atmosphere and really enjoyed learning the lighthouse history and being able to climb right to the top !! – Hailey
Pam & Jack are from Abington Massachusetts. They first came to PEI 37 years ago, on their HONEYMOON! Now they are back for an 8 day stay. They came to Point Prim to see the rare round brick lighthouse. They loved the bedroom on the 3rd floor, getting a glimpse of how it looked in the 1800’s. They also loved all the great stories about the area.
Sheila and Barbara traveled from West Gardner, Maine to see Prince Edward Island lighthouses. They are real lighthouse lovers and travel the coast to see as many as possible. They loved the view from the top and thought the structure amazing ! – Katelyn
Steve & Susie from Salt Lake City, Utah and Jim & Sandra from Dallas Texas came to the island for a 6 day tour. They found the lighthouse on the Points East Coastal Drive Map and made it their destination. They were surprised by the tiny third floor light-keepers bedroom and really enjoyed the spectacular view from the TOP ! – Hailey
Anne Caskeer and her family, traveled from Dayton, Ohio. She is a direct descendant of Findlay Mac-Donald, one of our lighthouse keepers. They were all so inspired to see his name on our history wall and very happy to see and imagine his life here as a lightkeeper. – Linda
Susanna and Rachel are summer residents here in Mount Buchanan and come to the lighthouse often. Last Sunday they completed our scavenger hunt in RECORD time..and had a great time in doing it!I’ve invited them to be girl guides next year and they are REALLY looking forward to that! Put us on your MUST DO list for 2011
Mike Hilte came over from Calgary. Enjoyed the weather and thought it really interesting that the Northumberland Strait freezes over each winter. He also loved our lighthouse and it’s history !! Thanks Mike !!
Jim and Ellen come up from New Hampshire 2 or 3 times a year. They have met and made many friends here on the island and especially here in the Point prim area. They love the landscape, the music and the hospitality..OH and of course our lighthouse !!
